IIT-HOME continues its tradition of brilliant results in Engineering Entrance Examinations in 2011. Given below is a summary of the laudable achievements by IIT-HOME students in different examinations. The highlights endorse IIT-HOME’s commitment to excellence at the top along with equal focus and a holistic approach towards all examinations ensuring that all students at the Institute succeed and not just a handful of toppers.

  • 65 is the maximum number of students ever qualifying in the history of IIT-HOME.
  • A total of 8 students from IIT-HOME were under AIR 1000 of the CML in IIT-JEE 2011. IIT-HOME Topper, Ratan Guha secured AIR 141 followed by Kalpesh Patil at AIR 211 and Akash Patil at AIR 319.
  • IIT-HOME scores triple century for the first time in its History in number of students qualifying AIEEE with 305 students clearing CML cut-off.
  • It is the fourth time in the history of IIT-HOME that a student has scored 400+ marks in BITSAT – Akash Patil 427 marks out of 450. This feat was earlier achieved by Yash Kamat in 2010, Soham Mehta in 2007 and Sauvik Choudhary in 2005. Two more students – Ratan Guha and Koustubh Tol scored more than 400 marks in BITSAT with scores of 408 and 407 respectively.
  • 6.5% of the Top 2000 State Ranks in AIEEE 2011 claimed by IIT-HOME students with 130 students above State Rank 2000 in the exam. IIT-HOME Topper Amrut Bawane secured State Rank 9 followed by Kalpesh Patil at SR 18 Akash Patil at SR 21.
  • A total of 38 students have scored more than 90% marks in XII Boards, a feat unachieved in the history of IIT-HOME till now.

RESULT SUMMARY

  • A total of 65 out of 104 students preparing for JEE ADVANCED 2011 qualified the exam.
  • A success rate of 63% as compared to All India Success Rate of approx. 2.81% was achieved (A total of approx. 13,000 candidates have qualified out of 4.7 lac candidates who appeared for the exam.)
  • Among the qualified students, 47 students have qualified in the Common Merit List (CML) by scoring more than the general category cut-off while 18 students have qualified in the reserved category list.
  • The list of qualified candidates consists of 12 girls and 53 boys.
  • 63 of the qualified students were first attempt students while 2 students were second attempt students.
  • Top rankers from IIT-HOME include Ratan Guha AIR 141, Kalpesh Patil AIR 211 (OBC 15), Akash Patil AIR 319 (OBC 25), Sandeep Dsouza AIR 407, Chaitanya Sarda AIR 548.
